Well, I told you that I can no longer beat the kids at chess. But as Tom and I were working on some of our goals for the year, we decided that we really wanted to have a mid-week game night.
We started by playing wii bowling Wednesday evenings but recently moved on to board games- specifically Monopoly.
After a three Monopoly sessions- so far- I am beginning to see a future winner emerging.
Our little Lydia is rolling in the dough and we are all a little panicked as we approach her hotels. I think she will eventually beat us all.
OK- see this? This is Tom's real smile. |
Now this-- this is Tom's he' s up to something smile... |
Yep- I saw that tickle finger coming a mile away... |
There is no point in trying to get a government bail out around here either. We already had a teenager try it and she got the "what for" from her father! No, there will be no government intervention around here.
Faith after the anti bail out lecture she just got from her Pa. :) |
We were all cracking up.
Now this has to be the goofiest family photo ever. What possessed me to have everyone turn from the game and smile for the camera on a timer? It actually makes me laugh. But I figure someone has to help supply future material for another awkward family photo book...
Ah well, it's all in fun. And gives me an excuse to make iced coffee. Yum!
By the way, does anyone think it's wrong that only one company makes the game Monopoly?
Have a great weekend!
Blessings,
We love game and/or movie nights! It is such a fun time for us :-) Looks like you guys are doing well and having fun at the same time my friend!
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Sommer
Thanks Sommer!
ReplyDeleteWe sure keep ourselves busy, so adding this extra mid-week game night has been great (we still do our Sunday night family night too). :)
I sure miss seeing you all on Sundays. You are thought of often my sweet friend.
Love,
Rebecca
my boys have just discovered Monopoly. I haven't played myself since we had to hand make additional money when playing with my sister, she cleaned out the bank! ;) John plays with the boys often on the weekends now. As well as with anyone else they can convince to play. Jackson (10 almost 11) seems to have quite the knack with the game. Maybe I would play again if I knew I could get a government bailout haha.
ReplyDeleteThink I will try to add in a game night midweek too. It is usually just me and the boys since John travels so much and that would be a nice mid week break!
LOVE that giant mirror behind the table...
Gabi
Riley got Monopoly for Christmas, we've been playing that quite a bit around here too. We love playing games.
ReplyDeleteI sure miss you. We all miss all of you! Our trip to California is too far away!
I miss seeing you too! Hopefully we will get a chance to meet up sometime in the near future. Have a great week dear friend!
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Sommer
