Riverbend Ranch Charity Carnival

We love opportunities in which families can minister together. We are pretty much of the mindset that if we can't do it as a family, we can't do it. And you know, there are always still plenty of ways to minister and bring our babes alongside.

This is one of the many reasons we couldn't be more impressed with the Riverbend Ranch Charity Carnival. Not only is the Kjeldgaard family practicing true religion, they are teaching their little ones to act with the same compassion that fuels them.

Under the management of their parents, these young people staffed game booths with Christian families, contacted local business people for donations of goods and services for the raffles, coordinated countless details and then served alongside the volunteers all day themselves.

Saturday's carnival was fantastic. Not only was it an incredibly fun event at the gorgeous Kjeldgaard ranch, the carnival actually earned above and beyond their goals and expectations! It was exciting to be a part of something so sincere and god honoring.

It was a fun day for the entire family. There were games and rides...

and painted faces.

All for a good cause.

Update! To see how much was raised, please go here!

  1. How fun! What a great way to give back to a deserving family. I would love it if we had a carnival like that in our area. So nice to know your money is going to a good cause.
I love the pictures that you captured that day. I think my favorite is the one with your daughter and her fish. I love how the fish is almost the same color as her hair. = )

  2. Oh, good! You got some lovely pictures indeed. I also really like the picture of Lydia with the fish. It almost makes me wish we brought our winnings home... almost : )

  3. Hi Serena~ Thanks. It was great. I know, I'm a sucker for the orange too! That hair!!! You know, that fish lasted just long enough for us to invest in a jar of fish food? Ah carnivals- the only time you'd hand a fish bag to a three year old. : ) Blessings! RJ

  4. Hi Erin! Just saw your comment after I posted my comment. But you did bring some winnings home. How is the cake? : ) You have to e-mail me so I can get the right one in my address book. I have some top secret info. for you. Love, Rebecca

  5. The carnival was so fun! I was cracking up at the picture of Katelyn coming down the slide!

    Love you sis!

  6. Thanks for sharing the photos. Sorry the Hectors weren't there. But it looks like a grand time was had by all. We're slowly recuperating from our trip. There's always next year.

    Love & Blessings, Jean

  7. Hi Jean! I'm sorry you weren't able to be there too, but sounds like you had a great trip! It was so nice to see you on Sunday. Love, Rebecca
