Parenting is not for wimps!

... or is it?

Ever have a rough day? You know, the kind of rough that comes from your responses more than the circumstances?

"For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body." ~James 3:2

Feeling like the yoke is heavy? Feeling weary in well doing?

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

His ways are not our ways. He allows those with their own strength to fall and lifts up those who wait upon Him. He does the miraculous because He is God.

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall ran and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:29-31

Are you needing new mercy every morning? Maybe every 10 minutes?

"This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions they fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion saith my soul; therefore I will hope in Him. The Lord is good to them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him." ~Lamentations 3:21-25

I have often thought that parenting is not for wimps... but maybe it is. At least it is for the "weak." Those who know their weakness and rely on Christ for their strength and help. And if we do that Who gets the glory?

"And He said unto me, 'My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distress for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong." ~2 Corinthians 12:9-11

He who has begun a work in us will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. What a faithful saying! And you know, it may be that one of the best ways to lead little hearts home is to let them see us on our knees.

May you be blessed by the truth of His Word. I know I am.

Blessings!
~Rebecca

  2. You are so welcome ladies. How good to meditate on truth, amen?

"The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy... For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him." ~Psalms 103:8,11
