Homeschool Family Camp

Ever wondered if there was a God honoring camp experience for the entire family? Now there is!

Our church is partnering with Jenness Park to program a Homeschool Family Camp April 27-30th (Monday – Thursday).

My first thoughts were Weekdays?  Money?  But listen to what they have planned.  This sounds like the best way we could spend our vacation!

2009 has been declared the "Year of Astronomy." Rather than settle for the atheistic, evolutionary explanations for the cosmos, come learn about astronomy from a distinctly biblical perspective. In addition, you and your family will be challenged to develop a biblical worldview in your homeschooling and beyond. We have an awesome line-up of speakers, educational opportunities, and recreational activities; so please join us. It will be a BLAST!

Featured Speaker: Israel Wayne

Israel Wayne was home educated and currently serves as Marketing Director for Wisdom's Gate Publishing. He is the author of the book, Homeschooling From A Biblical World view, published by Wisdom's Gate, and site editor for
www.ChristianWorldview.net Israel and his wife Brook, also a home school graduate, reside in Michigan with their five young children.

Israel's visionary topics:

Revival In The Home
Families in America are under attack. Teenage rebellion, divorce, juvenile delinquency, emotional disorders, and relational dysfunction are way too common, even among church-goers. Studies show that the majority of Christian youth abandon the Christian faith sometime around high school graduation. How can you have a godly family in the midst of such a worldly culture? This workshop will provide practical and Biblical answers.

Keeping An Eternal Perspective
As homeschooling parents, you need to keep in mind why you are homeschooling your children. What are God's purposes for home education and how can you fulfill them? This message will help you to know your target and homeschool with eternity in view.

The Future of Homeschooling
Israel will share from his personal experience of being involved in the Christian home education movement for over 30 years and share some challenges and opportunities that he believes homeschoolers will face in the days and years to come.

Being Salt & Light Families
As homeschoolers, we are often accused of retreating for society instead of impacting it. What is the balance between sheltering our children and reaching out to a lost world around us? This workshop explains how you can equip your children for the “real world” by developing a family ministry.

Featured Presenter: Diego Rodriguez

Diego Rodriguez is the founder of the 4th Day Alliance creation astronomy ministry. The 4th Day Alliance is dedicated to proclaiming the glory of God through astronomy. Diego and his wife, Lareina, have 5 homeschooled children.

Diego's "How Big is God" presentation is an exciting Multimedia event featuring audio and visual effects, computer animation, and a laser stars display created to take you on a fascinating journey exploring the size of the Earth, Solar System, Milky Way Galaxy, and ultimately the entire universe! I've been told it is one of those "you may never be the same" experiences.

If you are looking for an edifying family vacation this year that would help to clarify your homeschool vision and inspire the entire family~ this is the ticket!  Talk about the field trip of the year!

The Marketing Coordinator for Jenness Park (who also happens to be a homeschool father and my brother in law) has an exciting line up.  He has orchestrated the details to bring the lowest cost camp opportunity to us.  Camp costs include 8 meals~ Monday dinner through Thursday lunch~ evening snacks and camp activities. And I can assure you that their food is delicious! : )

He's broken the cabin costs out from the registration cost so you can have the flexibility to share a cabin with friends or make whatever arrangements best suit your situation.  Confused about the details?  Just give Ted a call:

There are plenty of things we need to shelter from, but this my friends is an opportunity to give our kids the good stuff.  I am excited about the work they are doing here~ keeping families together and inspiring them for the Lord.

Feel free to link over to this post from your blog.  Let's spread the word!

Hope to see you there!

Blessings to you as you lead little hearts home!
