Famous Quote Friday - Abe Lincoln

Happy Friday!!!

I hope that today's quote by "Honest Abe" will serve as a rich blessing to you! May we each be as wise as Abe's mom. May we pray both in quiet and aloud for our children. For we know that unless the Lord builds the house all of our best efforts are in vain.

"I remember my mother's prayers
and they have always followed me.
They have clung to me all my life."

~Abraham Lincoln

Facts about Lincoln:

Lincoln was almost entirely self educated and became a lawyer although he never attended college.

Lincoln is credited with preserving the Union during the Civil War as well as beginning the process to end slavery in the United States.

Lincoln is remembered for his strong character and dependence on God's wisdom.

President Lincoln's domestic policies included his support for the Homestead Act allowing poor people from the East to acquire land in the West.

Lincoln also signed the National Banking Act which established a national currency as well as created a network of national banks.
