Lord, help me to get dressed in the clothing You desire.
"Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony." ~Colossians 3:12-14
I love the visual picture of "putting on" or clothing ourselves in love, kindness, mercy, humility and patience. I need to put those things on. They are contrary to my natural clothing.
What we put on is, of course, an expression of our hearts. May we, by God's grace, choose the beauty that does not fade.
I would appreciate your prayers this week as I have the opportunity to write a magazine article on the topic of modesty to an audience of pre-teens and teens. What a delightful charge!
Blessings as you lead little hearts home!
Photo: Sarah, Hailey and Mama on Valentine's Day. This year the girls wanted to plan everything, so I did not prepare a blog post. Mama and Pa's job? To sleep in! The girls set their alarm to get up early, did all their chores, set the table and has surprises for us including a homemade bracelet, card, and a song they wrote. Sweet. : )
