Our Clothing

Lord, help me to get dressed in the clothing You desire.

"Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony." ~Colossians 3:12-14

I love the visual picture of "putting on" or clothing ourselves in love, kindness, mercy, humility and patience. I need to put those things on. They are contrary to my natural clothing.

What we put on is, of course, an expression of our hearts. May we, by God's grace, choose the beauty that does not fade.

I would appreciate your prayers this week as I have the opportunity to write a magazine article on the topic of modesty to an audience of pre-teens and teens. What a delightful charge!

Blessings as you lead little hearts home!

~Rebecca

The girls set their alarm to get up early, did all their chores, set the table and has surprises for us including a homemade bracelet, card, and a song they wrote. Sweet. : )

  1. Great post! I too need work on "putting on" proper "clothes"...I'm naturally in some rags at times;-)

I will pray for you to have the right and wise words for encouraging these young ladies in modesty!

Please pray for my patience and motivation to get my house under control/decluttered/organized in the next month and a half...baby is coming April 14th(my 4th c-section!) I am feeling rather tired and unmotivated I'm afraid.

    Have a blessed day!
Sommer...sweet girls, treating mom and dad so:-)

  2. Blessings Sommer!

I look forward to praying for you sister. Fourth c-section... and the desire to have someone else organize~ I can relate to that!

My advice? When in doubt, throw it out! Either that or purchase a 50' storage container so it can at least leave the house. Either one usually helps. ; )

    Love to you!

  3. When I clicked on your site yesterday and saw the title of your post I just could not believe it. My husband and I had JUST been having a discussion about our clothing being a reflection of our hearts and what he and I wanted to do to "set a new standard" especially with Faith and I. I'm very intersted in your article, I'll pray for you as you write. I always think you and your girls look very lovely in the photos you post here~
